Tell-No-Tales Thursdays: Scenery

I would hazard a guess that due to the exciting Audio Animatronic figures and action going on in the main scenes of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, most people don’t get a chance to notice the detail of the surrounding scenery. Here are a few scenery shots—how many of you can identify the area that these two pics come from?

  1. Is the first shot opposite from the dunking of the mayor? And the second shot just before the "chase" scenes?

I like the subject of your latest survey, Dave! Of course I had to vote for the Tokyo Disney Resort!

  2. Interesting pics Dave, They really show off the trompe l'oeil painting that was used on flat surfaces.

  3. I think it's from after the pie fight, but before the UFO scene. Somewhere around there.

  4. Right behind the palm trees in pic #1 is one of the evacuation routes. I was 2 minutes away using it a couple years ago, a cast member appeared from one of the door ways and was getting us ready when the ride started back up - rats

Major, are you all liquored up again? You must be thinking of the Florida version of Pirates...

  5. First Photo: my guess is the far left Bride Auction stage. You're looking backwards into the flow of traffic.

Second Photo: One of the chase scenes. I think it's the one where the pirate is being chased (for reasons that have changed over the years.)

As for the pole, I voted for Tokyo. I am enchanted by the idea of nibbling on sushi in the Chrysanthemum Kingdom, served by a geisha girl dressed like Minne Mouse.

  6. Wow, I've been on this more times than I can count, but I don't recognize this at all. Really great shots. Can't wait to learn where they were taken!

  7. Hey Dave, have you noticed that the pirate that sits on the bridge with his leg hanging over the guests has been missing for several months now? Also, one of the hissing cats (next to the drunken pirate) has been missing for at least a couple months! Maybe they will both reappear just like the Main St. clock did!

  8. I can confirm the missing Pirate and Cat. I was just there three weeks ago and he was MIA.
