This construction photo of the original Tomorrowland is undated, but judging from time lapse footage, this could have been shot as late as May or June of 1955. Note the Rocket to the Moon attraction, still just being framed.

I love these old pics. If you look up into the orange groves, that strip of open land (to the left) is now West Manchester Ave, which is the freeway on-ramp. Whow! How things have changed.
ReplyDeleteAmazing construction photo! I like how the two "round" exhibit buildings are still there 54 years later, granted they are enlarged and modified, but if you check Google earth, those round structures are still there. Thanks Dave!
