Sunday comes early this week, as we see shots of the critters from The Jungle Cruise; first one is from December 1954, second from January 1955. Nothing like a pretty girl to add a little publicity value to the unfinished park. Both shots were taken on the Disney Burbank Studio lot.

Flash forward to the present: anyone know what this new building in Fantasyland is for? Located near the former Motor Boat Cruise attraction, it seems to have sprung up from nowhere:
I'm in love with the crocodile girl!
ReplyDeleteAnd what the heck IS that new little building? Intriguing!
Just a long distance, uninformed guess, but that sign that reads 'Fairytale'-something in the first picture might be a clue. Haven't they been using the old MBC load area for character meet 'n greets? Perhaps it's just a bit of much needed theming for that area... ?
ReplyDeleteHow cute. Maybe it's publicity for a prize: new luggage sets, showing the authentic materials they're made with. ElephantLite is a little known brand to-day... ;)
ReplyDeletefor the new building, dreemfinder's hunch sounds likely to me.
Dave, I know it's a bit of a geographic stretch but does this new building coincide with the Casey Jr. Circus Train and Storybook Land Canal Boats rehab? I can't imagine Fairytale Arts would need that type of space and I sure hope this isn't Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique sprawl.
ReplyDeleteThat building is rather intriguing...I hope it is a sign of something to come to the motorboat area! I heard a rumor that they are planning a tinkerbell and friends ride for there, but I think it's too early. They've already got so much going on at DCA. Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteCould it be more of a permanent structure for Outdoor Vending? There is a turkey leg/chimichanga cart that sits just to the left of that.....and I think a drink cart sits just to the left of the food cart. Maybe they're combining the two? Who knows? It does seem pretty close to the lagoon and if the rumor is true about "Light Magic - The Ride" (sorry, that's just MY sarcastic title for it) then maybe this little house will be selling "Pixies on a Stick" and Lemonade.
ReplyDeleteThis is one building that the rumor mill seems to know little about. Hope it's something cool and more than just a churro/drink building.
ReplyDeleteYes it is a fast food vending.

BJ: Not what I was hoping for, but thanks for the tip. Wow...Turkey Legs rate a beautiful little cottage like that?!?
