November 1959: In Living Color, BONUS!

What a dolt I am. I scanned these so long ago, all I remembered thinking was wow...what a great batch! Then when I started posting these, all I could think of was, “I am extremely underwhelmed!” Today, I found out why. There was a whole batch of the best that I skipped over! Here they are, and I think you will agree that these are really some gems. The Major was right in thinking that there must be some exciting Tomorrowland images to check out, and here they are. First up is the Monsanto House of the Future, including a closer view to see what we REALLY want to see...the House itself.

Nearby in Central Plaza, the Keystone Kops are playing near the striped tent that housed the Edison Square display.

This previously posted Crane Bathroom exhibit shot features Scarf-gal, wishing she could be the hostess instead. I just learned the other day that Chevy Chase's grandfather owned Crane. Anyone else heard that before?

Back to the Submarine Voyage, a nice shot of the Skipjack:

For all you Monorail fans, here’s a crystal clear shot of the Blue Monorail, almost 50 years old now!

Scarf-gal is using the popcorn as an excuse to flirt with Popcorn-guy. Apparently Pegleg Pete gave her the brush the other day.

It may be drowing in the Rivers of America now, but in this 1959 shot, the Gullywhumper is ready for adventure!

Ah, the peaceful Indian Settlement along the Rivers of America.

Part 2 of “I Goofed” will be shown tomorrow. See more Disneyland photos at my website.

  1. Aha, I KNEW it! I certainly wasn't underwhelmed with what you've been posting, though, these are great.

Did the hat belonging to one of the Keystone Kops fall/blow off? Maybe scarf gal is wearing her scarf for a good reason! It does look like it could be breezy in the popcorn photo.

Wow, 10 images today, I don't know how you do it.

  2. The gift that just keeps giving!!! I am so happy to see more of Scarf-Lady. Check out the "log" drinking fountain in the popcorn photo, how fun! Can wait for "goofed" part 2, thanks Dave!

  3. Love drinking fountains....especially when they're themed....okay, sometimes even when they're not.

Is popcorn-guy wearing some sort of sandals? Doesn't seem like they go with the rest of his outfit, even if they do fit in with Frontierland.

These are great.....glad that there were more to enjoy from this series. Thanks Dave!
