1950’s Disneyland Visit: Frontierland Pt. 3

As we hop back onto the Mark Twain and finish out our journey on the Rivers of America, we come to the infamous Burning Cabin! Kids under 18, please don’t look at the closeup:

The peaceful Indians wave at yet another group of guests passing by:

Good ol’ Fort Wilderness, back when it looked like a real fort. Check out the costumed cast member in the closeup; he looks like he could have been on “F Troop”!

Last ones for today are a Stagecoach amd Conestoga Wagon in motion:

More Rivers of America shots to share tomorrow! See moreDisneyland Frontierland photos at my website.

  1. Very nice. Particularly good lighting / timing on the bottom one.

What's that wooden (?) thing on the top right of the bottom pic? Wilderness lifeguard chair? How 'bout the frontier drain pipe. Guess they haven't changed in over 50 years.

Isn't that John Wayne in the middle close up? ;) The fort does look fantastic.

'm curious. What'd they use the turnout in front of the Burnin' Cabin for?

  2. Do they rangers/security officers on the island still wear those costumes? They do still wear them in Tokyo.

  4. Chiana - I believe that wooden thing is part of the Nature's Wonderland Rainbow Ridge "set." Not sure about the turnout on the Cabin. Tokyo - I have not seen costumes like that at Disneyland for a looooong time. Thanks Buskaloo - glad you enjoy it!

  5. The last three photos along would make one great post, but then we got an additional three (plus a closeup)! I especially like that Conestoga Wagon pic.
