This undated aerial shot is most likely from 1963; as you’ll note from the detail view, the Haunted Mansion is completed, but the show building itself is yet to be constructed. New Orleans Square is also in its earliest stages of being built. Looking back at the “big picture,” you can also get a good idea of how the Disneyland Hotel looked originally. Obviously, it has changed much over the years.
As a bonus, I am throwing in a few early morning shots of the Castle and Central Plaza:

First the Strawhatters picture from yesterday is fantastic. This aerial view also gives you a good perspective on where the Heli-port is located. Great shots
ReplyDeleteNice look at the golf course too...
ReplyDeleteDid you get into the park before everyone else?
The original location of the Heliport for LA Airways was between Ken-L-Ration and the employees parking lot.
ReplyDeleteYeah, not only the regular golf course, but you can see the miniature golf course too! I was always fascinated by the miniature Disneyland icons as we'd drive by. Never got to play it though. Disneyland always took priority...as it should have, I guess. Great pics as usual! Thank you, Dave!
ReplyDeleteSo, Dave...
ReplyDeleteHow did you do in the Marathon?
How did you keep the camera so steady while you were supposed to be running? ;)
Great aerial views. The gold course shot is a treat!
