Color Shifting in 1958

Every now and then I get a batch of magenta slides; this set from 1958 looked pretty far gone, but for the most part, I was able to get some color back. Still, you will note that some of them are a little “off.” First shot is an angle you don’t normally see at the Main Street Train Station, showing the original Retlaw 1 cars. And that tiny little white speck on the pavement is a cigarette! Quick! Somebody get Trinidad! Back in Town Square, the band is playing for a handful of guests.

Fortunately for us, the photographer moved in for a closeup. I have also included a detail shot of the drum-head and the sign in the background heralding the never-to-be International Street:

  1. WOW Dave, those are some especially wonderful photos. Great 50's look, great color (restored?), I really love these.

  2. I love the close-up shot of the band especially...But these are all fine photos.

Thanks for bringing them out of the dark and into our view. It's great to see these old and once forgotten pics shared with us all.

    Thanks Dave!
