FRONTIERLAND, 1956: We see the Floating Wedding Cake (aka The Mighty Mark Twain) heading back to the dock for another trip around the Rivers of America. In shot #2, one load of guests is disembarking while the Disneyland Marching Band waits patiently to board.
This lucky young lad got to ride on top of the shortlived Stagecoach attraction! Rainbow Ridge visible upper right.
Pan that camera over to the right and you get a better view of some of the other Rainbow Ridge buildings as well as the Mine Train:

Hi Dave, again loving this series, you spoil us so much!
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Since 4/21 I am not able in "enlarge" your photo posts? Is it my browser or did something change? Just curious, you know me, I gotta look at every inch of these gems.
THANKS for all you do!
I just checked my site; seems fine. I haven't changed anything that I am aware of. Is anyone else having the same problem?
ReplyDeleteIn the photo of the stagecoach, the employees look like they just stepped off the set of Maverick.
ReplyDeleteGreat series of pics Dave. Thanks
ReplyDeleteP.S. Everything working OK here.
I am amazed at how young everything looks in the older pictures. So barren, too.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing what 50 years of growth can do.
