Pre-Tahitian Terrace

These 2 from July 1961 are (I am ASSUMING) from the area that would become the Tahitian Terrace in June 1962.

“Meet the Robinsons” comes out on DVD tomorrow. I meant to see it in the theaters in all its 3D glory, but just never made the time to do so. The buzz on it was tepid, so I didn’t feel a real urge and therefore missed it. It makes a nice DVD watch that I would put in the same category as “Cars”; enjoyable but not the same caliber as “The Incredibles” or “Ratatouille.”

The DVD has some good extras, especially the behind the scenes stuff; always interesting to see where the inspiration and the choices of cast & storyline came from.

Meanwhile, I have finished my painting of Main Street:

  1. I didn't know that there was something there before the Tahitian Terrace. Do you know what it was called? Great job on the painting, it looks great!

  4. Hey Dave
Love the painting. Great color choices, very cheery and vibrant.

Can't agree with you on Meet the Robinsons. Didn't care for it when I seen it at the theater (sorry not in 3D) and still didn't care for it on DVD. It wasn't horrible just not what I thought it could be.

  6. Dave I have to say I have loved every painting you have posted. Great work. I love this one. It looks like a snapshot of a happy memory.

As for Meet The Robinsons. It seemed more like a post Eisner internal peptalk directed at the animators. If it wasn't that then its moral of "Forget your past and look to the future" seems a little odd.
