Judging by the comment factor, the Golden Horseshoe is somewhat of a bomb, so I am returning to the ever popular Tomorrowland, this time with a nice shot of the Blue Monorail and the Autopia. These 2 slides are from another undated batch...yes, putting the call out again. Shot 2 begs the eternal question—why do older men tend to pull their paints up so high? It just can’t be comfortable.

Must be 1959-60 for this version of the Monorail. Great Pics Dave and I love the new format of your website. DD
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is an unusual angle...was it taken from the Skyway loading platform?
ReplyDeletenow, now! the horseshoe shots were great...
ReplyDeletebut i must say, tomorrowland is a nice place to hang for a while!
Love the General Dynamics logo!
ReplyDeleteJordan - you mean tomorrowland WAS a nice place to hang. And major - not sure of where the pic was taken - skyway loading platform or tomorrowland train station?
ReplyDeleteI would say because of the elevation of the shot, the Tomorrowland Skyway station. I like the older style Autopia cars in the first shot.
ReplyDeleteThe monorail looks really slick in the second picture. I'm curious about the Santa Fe Railroad logo on top of the monorail loading platform- did they sponsor the monorail? If so, that's definitely news to me.
ReplyDeleteIt was originally sponsored by both Alweg and Santa Fe; Disney had a contract that Santa Fe's name was to be on all "railroad" attractions.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info.
