I can't remember the benefactor who funded it, but the design is that of the architect Bruce Goff, a noted American regionalist architect. The present building was executed by his student, whom I believe is named Prince.

That is an exceptional structure and very much worth a trip just to see the building, to say nothing of the art within.

Thank you for the great pics and info.

JGJGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15456196709930408585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29249921.post-8384410884568610342011-07-28T09:13:32.715-07:002011-07-28T09:13:32.715-07:00You know, I was in LA a few weeks ago, and if I ha...You know, I was in LA a few weeks ago, and if I had only known...

The museum building is absolutely beautiful. The Tim Burton thing actually looks pretty fun, maybe I'll have to head over there.

Goin' to the Getty today!Major Pepperidgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09843598326995116014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29249921.post-52453454145624876072011-07-28T05:44:07.775-07:002011-07-28T05:44:07.775-07:00I can;t believe they misspelled "filigree!&qu...I can;t believe they misspelled "filigree!"Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06169920944565828337noreply@blogger.com
