I remember the ...Wow, these brought back memories. I remember the both construction and the anticipation. I also remember that little showcase in front of the construction wall that housed the model of the Space Mountain complex. Speaking of the SM complex, I still miss the Speedramp out at the front of the attraction and I still cringe every time I see the enclosed space that used to be the outdoor amphitheater. I love Space Mountain - the ride, but unfortunately the design of the original Space Mountain complex has been destroyed over the years.TokyoMagic!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16340756514811789233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29249921.post-15593431616682613742012-10-09T13:48:05.277-07:002012-10-09T13:48:05.277-07:00Thank you Bill H. and Dave for sharing this.

I remember riding it for the first time with my Dad, on what turned out to be his last visit to Disneyland. So it's very special to me.

Fun to see the heavy construction right in the middle of the Happiest Place on Earth.

JGAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29249921.post-34935317625796118272012-10-09T09:29:26.727-07:002012-10-09T09:29:26.727-07:00Hi Dan - Thanks for sharing! The new music, the great effects and the increased darkness doubled the ride's appeal for me.Rich T.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01218280822336323825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29249921.post-88030498447390339572012-10-09T09:01:45.450-07:002012-10-09T09:01:45.450-07:00Very neat, I am surprised that plywood was used in...Very neat, I am surprised that plywood was used instead of sheet metal. The Imagineers described it as building a ship in a bottle because they had to build the track inside the existing building: http://www.dadlogic.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/26726_1301244206295_4506949_n.jpgDanhttp://dadlogic.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29249921.post-63370213987665021662012-10-09T07:04:41.017-07:002012-10-09T07:04:41.017-07:00I remember the constuction of Space Mountain well....I remember the constuction of Space Mountain well.
