I can't imagine even Tim Burton fabricating such wrenching stories of dead kids for "theming" purposes.

Some of the others do have a certain "graveyard humor" or "Boot Hill" ring to them and might be later additions. Even these sound very similar to epitaphs I have read in other cemeteries of the era which were not part of themed developments. It's not impossible that black humor was as common then as now, maybe a coping mechanism for a harsh life.

At any rate, none of them were as obvious as the gags in the Disney Haunted Mansion.

JG JGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15456196709930408585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29249921.post-18842740529713655012014-03-23T12:36:40.314-07:002014-03-23T12:36:40.314-07:00Oh wow, that was a great look back! Would love to go back someday.Connie Morenohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14112860706520621190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29249921.post-8390330497982030562014-03-22T16:57:26.406-07:002014-03-22T16:57:26.406-07:00Dave - Thanks for answering my question. There's something about the harsh feel of the landscape and the thought of these people who lived and died in these places. These are wonderful images.K.
