The Future Is Lost

Instead of hanging out in Tomorrowland, this 1950s Disneyland Spaceman is standing in Central Plaza. Obviously, the buttery popcorn from the nearby cart lured him out of the future.

A detailed view of his costume.

That's one Disney spaceman costume that I have never seen before.

I love the vacuum tube tech.

I have never seen this costume / detail before. It's kind of gritty and realistic, unlike the dreamy aluminum foil characters. Is this an early photo?

It seems like the helmets were a problem, getting the enclosed appearance effect while having the CM not suffocate, many different designs, even in the silver costumes.

Thank you, Dave.

I am amazed at how much the costumes of the Spaceman and Spacegirl changed... nearly every photo is different in some way. Love that kooky oxygen pack with the giant tube on top.
