Central Plaza Madness!

It's a two-fer-one special as we spend today (virtually speaking) in Central Plaza. A 1955 negative is the source of the first photo for today, showing a gent and his son on the Horse-Drawn Streetcar. Zooming in, we can see some kind of utility structure in the background. The Skyway under construction?

Busting out in full color is this 1957 view of the Chemical Wagon dumping a load of guests at Central Plaza in front of Tomorrowland.

Let's hope the driver has some hand sanitizer with him.

See more Daveland Central Plaza photos at my main website.

Man, the color on that Chemical Wagon photo is dazzling! Sure wish I knew what that crane (or whatever it is) was doing in the first picture.

In the Plaza Hub pic, the basic idea of the Disneyland layout design is visible in the Chemical Wagon wheels. Now about that Chemical Wagon driver...

Given that the Street Cars stop at the top of the arc around the Plaza I'd have to guess that that object in the first photo is the Snow Hill tower under construction. The angle is right and it's got that sort of triangular truss look to it...

Thanks Patrick - makes sense!
