Disneyland Hits 50,000,000

49 years ago today Mary Adams of Solana Beach, California became the 50 millionth guest at Disneyland. First photo today shows what the iconic entrance sign looked at during this time. Below, you can see the Main Street Train Station proudly claiming the record number in this blurry image snapped from the Monorail.

I am assuming the colorful boxes held balloons.

This record number for a venture that was not predicted to succeed calls for a celebration!

In other news, I was saddened to hear of the tragic passing of comedian Robin Williams yesterday, best known to Disney fans as the voice of the fast-talking Genie from "Aladdin."

My favorite Williams role will always be "Mrs. Doubtfire."

I hope he has found peace.

It was truly a sad day yesterday. Thanks for all the joy and laughter, Robin Williams. May you rest in peace.

What year did it hit the 50 millionth guest? Maybe you just had an oops and forgot to give that info!
