Toilet at Club 33

At Daveland, you just never know what I am going to post. Today's images are 1980's WDI documentations of a toilet from Club 33. Located in the women's restroom, this Victorian-style piece is probably one of the fanciest toilets I've ever seen. Whether this is an original piece from the Club's opening or something that was added later on, I have no idea.

A recent photo (not taken by me!) of this piece from inside the Club:

It will be interesting to see if this survived the remodel. Here is the concept art of how the new Grand Salon dining room is to look:

The Jazz Lounge, built above the French Market:

The Jazz Lounge Seating Area:

I am looking forward to seeing how the interior looks in person, and hopefully soon will have that opportunity. The one piece of art that really saddens me shows the new and definitely not improved Court of Angels.

Andy Castro, Disneyland aficionado supreme, posted this photo shot through the new gates:

The wrap-around light vines are just awful. What was once well designed now just looks like a very poorly done re-muddle. Less is no longer more when it comes to this area.

I just saw the interior photos at MiceChat and it looks nice, but it also looks like it's had the character and soul sucked out of the place. Of course I've never been inside Club 33 and most likely will not, so what do I know?

It's also disheartening to see the New Orleans Square architecture altered and compromised by this expansion.

I'll definitely be interested in hearing your take on the expanded club. I hear the Napa Rose executive was involved in the menu.

It looks like they are trying to adopt a Princes and the Frog concept. It's hard for an experienced designer to see such a poor idea come from a quality company.

Ha! I also have a picture of the toilet in the women's restroom! They were just too fancy-pants to not take a picture. But, I was wondering the same thing - if they'll be keeping them or not.
Not sure if I'll ever get to see inside the new Club, but am definitely curious to see the changes.

When I first went to Club 33 everyone kept telling me to use the bathroom to see those toilets. As it turned out, I actually did need to use the restroom and those toilets are awkward! The seats are flat and wide and the chair itself was almost as wide as the cubicle. I'm sure that had something to do with ADA adaptations, but the stalls were very cramped (the door touches your knees).
