Sailing Through Sundays on the JC: Disneyland August 27, 1955, Pt. 4

Welcome back to part 2 of our August 27, 1955 trip through the Jungle Cruise. When we were last aboard our boat, we had just left the Ancient Shrine and the lost hanging monkeys.

I had to zoom in here just to make sure you’d have nightmares about the scary natives!

Back to civilization!

Hope you enjoyed your vintage trip on The Jungle Cruise! See more Disneyland Jungle Cruise photos at my main website.

I am usually not a big fan of Jungle Cruise pics. But these are excellent.

I love these early shots of the "old" jungle. It always made me think of the jungle sets for Sherwin Schwartz' "Gilligan's Island". Just green and clumpy. The plantings today are so much more convincing and beautiful.

Hey Dave, this was a great J.C. series. Thanks for the close-up of the native. I wonder if they saved any of the original native figures. Wasn't there just one guy that posed for the mold and then all the figures were cast from that mold?

Katella, now that you've mentioned it...that first shot really does look like the Gilligan's Island set!
