Tell-No-Tales Thursdays: A Little Chess Game

Doesn’t look like there’s ever going to be a winner in this game. A few recent shots without a flash:

See more Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean photos at my website.

Great "no flash" photos! In a couple there is that greenish light that is does not look like it's there in others. Guess the lighting has changed over time?

Major - It's probably more a factor of me fiddling with the settings on my camera (and photoshop) than a change in the lighting.

From a story-telling point of view, I think both P. of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion are interesting in that they have the same story structures:

The first half of both rides are showcases for atmospherics and effects (PotC: Start to Shelling the Fort: HM: Start to Mme. Leota)

The back half of the rides are heavy loaded with animatronics and the Mark Davis Treatment

Good shots! I remember going on this ride before they added Jack Sparrow (in '98)

nice pictures. have you tried opening the aperture to its widest setting?

David - since the boat is moving, it is tricky to get a balance of the speed/light settings. Every time I ride POTC or any of the other dark rides, i continually experiment to get the best photos...and of course I always secretly hope that the attraction has to stop so that I can steady the camera and open up the aperture even more!
