A Daveland Fave Decade: The 1960’s, Pt. 4

Even though the guests in photo number one are LEAVING Adventureland, Daveland readers will be spending the entire day here. If you look at the detail shot, you can see that Juan the Barker Bird is now a bright shade of red. In my other photos of him (as well as the collectible Juan that was released for the 50th Anniversary) he is blue. Compare and contrast!

The rest of our visit today will be spent taking a leisurely trip on The Jungle Cruise. See you at the dock!

Still more to come! See more Disneyland Adventureland photos at my website.

So was Juan blue at first and then red? I've never been sure which it was!

Beautiful shots as always!

Sure wish I could have seen Juan when he was up there calling out to the passers-by...

Also love those exquisite Jungle Cruise pics. Is that heather growing on the African veldt?

Thanks Dave!

Always love to see pics of the barker bird, thanks. Also, in the first shot you can see the ubiquitious shrunken head that is now missing from the Adventureland sign.

In the first African veldt pic, it looks like one of the giraffes in the background is bent over eating a bush. I don't remember this on the current ride. Did the animal move? Do you know when this was removed?
