Disneyland, August 1986: Fantasyland & Dumbo

Today our trip back to the 80's features everyone's favorite flying elephant, Dumbo.

Here are two wacky (in my opinion) closeups of Dumbo’s Organ (please refrain from bawdy jokes!):

And a contemporary shot for comparison of this area:

Two more shots from Fantasyland and then we will be finishing this 1980’s series as well: Storybook Land & It’s A Small World Topiaries:

See more Dumbo photos at my website.

I like the detail of the Dumbo... calliope! Especially the sculpted elephants standing on each other, just like in the movie.

You want bawdy jokes... There once was a girl from Nantucket.... Oh never mind, lol. Great pics Dave. Appreciated.

Ah Dumbo's Mechanical Organ... I wish they'd fix it so Dumbo pops out like he used to... Kids get attached to that kinda stuff.

Also they recently changed audio tapes that play the carnival music, and whoever wrote the new arrangements has significantly less talent than the old arranger.

I have a suspicion that the topiaries out front of Small World used to originally be part of Storybook Land. There is an aerial shot that shows them lined up behind the Casey Jr. hill.

BTW, Happy Birthday Dave!

Sigh...

Refraining JUST because it is your birthday.

So, how does it feel to be 30?
