Space Mountain Construction

This March 1976 view shows the Rocket Jets (formerly the Astro Jets) as well as construction of Space Mountain on the right. I have included a detail shot.

See more vintage and contemporary Disneyland Space Mountain photos at my main website.

Dave--

Great shots gain! Where are you getting all of these. I know. Trade secrets!

I love construction photos. Sometimes it is just too much for Disney to hide and now they they use the painted tarps(?) you are almost more jarred by how unreal they look.

Whoa! It kind of foreshadows the awful color it was painted for several years.

WOW, now that's a rare shot! You sure don't see many Space Mountain constructions photo's! Was this a slide? I wonder where they stored all the little people mover cars during this period? The PM loading area looks like it does today, empty and sad.... THANKS FOR THIS RARE PHOTO DAVE!

Yup - the source was a slide. Sometimes you just luck into stuff like this...and other times, you pay out the nose for it!
