Day @ Disneyland, July 1962, pt. 3

Our beautiful retro round Skyway buckets are taking us to Tomorrowland in installment 3 of this July 1962 series. The next few shots give you the view you’d see right before your gondola landed at the Tomorrowland Skyway Station, giving you glimpses of the Monorail, the Submarine Voyage, The Moonliner, and the Astrojets.

Now it’s time for a little fun on land! How about this zany shot of the Flying Saucers? Love the flowered hat! This gal knows how to have fun!

Stay tuned for our next installment, featuring more Tomorrowland!

Great pictures Dave. The Tomorrowland, just like I remember it.

That Douglas rocket always looks so freaky to me compared to the TWA one. I heard that DCA is putting in an updated Flying Saucer ride in the next few years themed around Cars.

Beautiful series, lots to see! I love the “General Dynamic” sub sign and all detail on the sign pole, super neat stuff! Monorail red and yellow! What a fine day in 1962 this was… Thanks for this great series! Is that ladies flower hat for real?

Another shot of my little Flight Circle. It must be just after a show because I can see the yellow triangle "next show" clock off to the side, not a lot of people around the circle, and a figure under one of the awnings (probably doing some repairs.) I never liked the Douglas paint job either, and it seem disloyal to Disneyland. TWA was such an icon. Beautiful clear photos, and a very typical day at the Park.

That's a super nice shot of the Douglas Rocket! And that Flying Saucers image is as nice as they get...you're right, the flowered hat helps to make this especially nice!!
