The Golden Horseshoe, Pt. 1

Here is a 2 part “series” with a few photos from the Golden Horseshoe. Today I present 2 1962 publicity stills featuring bug-eyed Wally Boag and Betty Taylor.

Be sure to check out the upcoming reunion show next March with Betty & Wally! Stayed tuned tomorrow as I present some images from an actual show. On a separate note...this photo was submitted to me by a reader who wanted to know approximately what year it was from; my guess is that it is from WDW and not DL; anybody able to identify where and when?

See more vintage and current Disneyland Golden Horseshoe photos on my regular website.

Love those publicity shots, it's great to see Wally and Betty looking so young and vibrant.

I've seen that Adventureland sign in other shots (maybe on Matterhorn's blog?), but don't know the date of the thing...

Looks to me like 1970's Magic Kingdom font for Adventureland entrance. (Nothing that contemporary would fly at DL, IMO...)

The Adventureland sign as an obvious Photoshop generated fake. Just look at the distance of the post compared to the sign.

not so sure how obvious that is, anonymous; this is from a faded and scratched print. however, I'll be sure to pass your message on to the owner of the original.

Not a fake! It's a real shot of the other side to the former Stouffer's sign that was adjacent to the Tahitian Terrace (Disneyland, CA) - circa 1963-ish...

Thanks Chris - now where did I put all those Sleeping Beauty Diorama slides...

I just threw away a *huge* folder full of Sleeping Beauty diorama photos. I needed to make room on my shelf for more "Friends" DVDs. But I'm sure nobody would have wanted those old pictures anyway, right?

Have a great day.

CJ (who is oooonly kidding, and who never had photos of the inside of the castle, nor owned a Friends DVD. Honestly.)
