New Orleans Square opening, 1966

This trio of publicity stills are from Summer 1966, when New Orleans Square first opened. This has always been one of my favorite areas of the park; I love winding around the streets and seeing all the courtyards and other nooks and crannies. Shot 1 shows the Delta Ramblers with tap dancers Gene & Eddie. Shot 2 is an extremely posed view of the Court of Angels.

This view of the Court is from Christmas, 2006:

The last publicity still shows The Creole Cafe, which is now Cafe Orleans:

The current signage is similar in style:

Meanwhile, over at DCA, Toy Story Midway Mania construction continues along:

Love those black and white pictures! I sure hope that Midway Mania turns out cooler than I imagine it to be...it sounds so-so, but at least they are improving it.

Major- I believe I've read a few times that Disney is stressing that this isn't necessarily an "E" Ticket attraction. Not sure if that's just something to keep the expectations low or what. It will probably be similar to Buzz Lightyear...which although it's no Haunted Mansion or POTC is plenty of fun to ride.
