Indian Village & Canoes

3 early images of the Indian Village (but where are the Indians?!?), or more specifically the entrance and Indian War Canoe loading area. By this time, the Village had moved from its original spot near Magnolia Park to what is now (dare I say it?) Critter Country. Once the Indians left Disneyland, the Canoes became part of the Davy Crockett folklore, not the Indians. Shot one is from Sept. 1959, shot 2 is August 1959, and the final view is from January 1962.

See more vintage Disneyland Indian Village photos on my regular Indian Village web page.

I wonder which tribe in history introduced the use of outboard motors as seen in pic #3? Or was that a Davy Crockett thing?
