The PeopleMover

From January 1968 come these two shots showing the PeopleMover; shot 2 is really all about the Sub Voyage, until I zoom in on the closeup to feature the PM. It really was a cool idea; a constantly moving vehicle that serves as a transportation device. Had Walt lived, it would have been one of the main features of EPCOT. At this point, the PeopleMover is only a few months old, having just opened in July the year before. Hopefully the new regime at Disney will be able to put the unused track to good use again soon.

The second photo shows why the Peoplemover may not come back. A full set of four cars and no one in it.

The House of the Future was removed only weeks before these photos were taken!

I sure hope that they bring back some kind of Peoplemover....any ride with continuously moving vehicles is bound to have "empties" sometimes. I constantly see empty boats going through POC, and that's one of the most popular rides ever!

It would be so great to see the Peoplemover back in action. We can hope!

I dont see anyone in any of the three groups of four cars in that picture. Maybe it's early or they're testing the ride.
