Tomorrowland Clock of the World, July 18, 1955

Here’s one of the famous Clock of the World on the day after opening. This is a different view than what is normally shown. I hope to be back on track with postings now; please send some visine after my debacle with the webserver change.

See more vintage and contemporary Disneyland photos at my main website.

I like that it is the view from Tomorrowland out towards the Plaza hub. Most people took the photo standing in the hub towards Tomorrowland.

I've always loved the Clock o' the World, though I would have been more impressed if they had paid for the built-in AM radio (with snooze alarm).

iThat is an amazing shot! I never noticed the blue and green tile work around the base before. Is that an ocean representation? And what are the yellow circles rising through it? And finally, what are really impressive to me are ol’ glory waving, the sun & moon representation, and stainless steal map of the world against that 1950’s California blue sky!
