Retro Parking Lot, 1960’s

Back before California Adventure and Downtown Disney, there was the Parking Lot. For all those nostalgic about this “lost” area, this one’s for you. Once again, the date of this slide is unknown but I would guess early 60’s. Thanks to the decor on the Main Street Train station, it’s easy to deduce that it’s the Christmas season.

I always like parking lot views because it is easy to imagine the excitement as Disneyland guests get closer and closer to the entrance!

I like the Volkswagon Van in the line up of some of Detroit's biggest cars. Great view and I always thought that taking pictures in the parking lot was kind of unusual, but now see it is fairly common. Always interesting though!

That sense of arrival you would get when parking and then walking up to the Main Gate is long gone now... You are dumped into a competing mess of signs and shops, all vying for your attention...
