Boarding the Jungle Cruise, 1955



What a beautiful shot from 1955 of the Nile Princess. This could also be subtitled "Jungle Cruise without the Jungle." Fifty years of landscaping maturing certainly adds to the park and makes it seem bigger. Be sure to notice the vintage outfits, hats, and uniforms of the cast members.

I love those early shots of the Adventureland side of the Pavilion too...

In the original attraction poster, the boat's captains are wearing striped shirts! Then, in early postcards (like the panoramas from 1956) they are wearing red shirts. I like the stripes, but it looks like we are being shown through the jungle by Frenchmen! ;-)
